I have trouble in winter with really dry skin – I think we all do, to some extent, yes? – and sometimes finding an oil or a body butter that really, truly nourishes is hard. Especially if you have any number of other skin complaints (hey there eczema). And no one likes feeling as greasy as that takeout you definitely didn’t have last night, amirite?
So when Acuregen asked if I’d maybe like to try one of their new body oils, I thought why not? My skin could use it.
(And tbh, yours might too.)
I’ve talked about acuRegen products before, and how fab the team who creates the line is, so I won’t spend too much time telling you how lovely and brilliant and passionate they are (hint: very). Instead I’ll talk about their body oil range – and the Lavender scented* bottle they sent me to try out. All their products are ethically produced, suitable for vegetarians and not tested on animals.
Directions for use:
Pop a few drops in the bath or apply directly to moist skin. It’s a good idea to do a patch test 24 hours prior to use.
What does it do?
The product aims to rehydrate and dermally refine, and protect with anti-microbal and anti-inflammatory ingredients.
Verdict:
I’ve been using this for the last few weeks, alternating between adding to a nice warm bath and direct application to the skin. In problem dry areas (elbows, some lighter eczema prone areas) there has been pretty decent improvement in my tendency to become a dragon. The dry skin has been reduced majorly, and, tmi or grossness alert: it’s not doing that weird scaley peely thing. Result.
The scent for me is probably a bit strong – I’m not usually one for scented body products and this bottle is very lavender; but after a long day at uni and all the stress, I’ve actually found it’s quite relaxing to have a bath with a few drops and for my bathroom to smell of lavender for a bit. It’s helped me get to sleep on occasion too.
So yeah. Fab product really. Do like lots.
You can get yourself one from the acuRegen website, and the scents available are: Jasmine, Lavender, and Rose.
