For all intents and purposes, I am the actual definition of ‘low maintenance friend’. It isn’t even really a conditional thing – as in: depends who you are or how long we’ve known each other – I treat everyone more or less the same. Which often makes me feel that I’m not very good at maintaining friendships.

Especially in this current wave of squads and goals and gangs and very strong depictions of solid friendships that are built on genuine support and acceptance, rather than the hollow, echoey dynamics of Mean Girls and A Lot of Other Teen Movies and Books I grew up with. It’s fab, and I’m really pleased it’s a thing
