There is very little room at university to create the perfect workspace – it’s very much a ‘work around what you’ve been given’ accompanied by long stints in the library. So far, I’ve managed to do just fine with what’s been handed to me with various accommodation, and this year I’m lucky enough to be living on my own – so basically any flat, wide surface functions quite well as a workspace.
I mean, I have 2 desks and a coffee table. I’m basically living the student dream.
But the student dream isn’t exactly my workspace dream. I mean, it’s a white-slash-cream wide-ish spot – I use the coffee table as a desk more than my actual desk – which is fab and practical, but not ultimately inspiring or majorly motivating on days when the work seems to be endless. I also don’t have as much storage as I’d like for general life paraphernalia so at times everything can feel a little cluttered.
