I am in love. With a cleanser. Well, my skin is, and I have a sneaking suspicion that this little guy, The Face Shop rice water bright cleansing light oil (yeah, I know, it’s a mouthful) has something to do with it.
Since returning from Korea and it’s easily accessible cosmetics that my skin could not get enough of (and my bank balance could not hate more), I’ve tried the micellar water and cleansers from UK brands and they’ve just… not been on par. Korean makeup tends to have pretty substantial staying power, and finding something that doesn’t require me using half the product in one go, and doesn’t irritate my skin was pretty much burning a hole in my purse. So I picked up this rice water cleansing oil in my Korean cosmetic haul, and have been using it in my skincare routine since.
And oh my gosh.
Specs:
– contains 150ml, uses a pump to dispense the product, and is advertised for all skin types.
directions for use:
– pump as much product as needed, spread over the face and cleanse
– rinse off with lukewarm water
First up, a pump of this removes a full face, including the ever evil Maybelline rocket lash waterproof. It’s also not one of those cleansers you really need to work into the face to get your makeup off, because I’ve tried those and they’re no fun. Light circular motions do the trick just fine, so you’re not damaging your skin with overly harsh movements.
I also really love the way my skin feels after rinsing off with water – plumped up and fresh, The key here is to let your skin air dry rather than scraping at it with a towel, which may feel weird because of the oil residue. But it’s worth it I promise.
Half a pump and 2 seconds of cleansing later:
About 20 seconds later:
It’s an incredibly effective cleanser, and I’d thoroughly recommend it if you’re not getting on with micellar cleansing waters or current offerings from western brands. Or if you’d just like to try Korean cleansers.
The cleanser retails for 9,900 won which is about £5.48, which for 150ml is really good value, as you only need one pump for a full face. It’ll last you quite a while.
So, what do you guys think? What’s your current favourite cleanser?
