So final semester has begun and I’m feeling both excited and overwhelmed. And tired. Incredibly tired (though that’s probably the fault of Tuesday night…) Settling into a new timetable takes a little while, but I feel like everything is going to hurtle past in an instant and before I know it, I’ll be handing in a bound dissertation, donning my dress for the ball and then bidding farewell to my uni life. HELP.
fedora: missguided
top: h&m
braces: Korea (Edae)
skirt: asos
It’s like things are slotting into place bit by bit, but are also simultaneously slipping around too much for me to grasp hold for any real length of time, and it still scares me but mostly I’ve got this buzz of excitement. It’s probably a seasonal thing, despite the fact that Sheffield is still fudging freezing – hence no outdoor shots and my very, very white walls – spring lines are creeping in and I saw actual flowers in the park on the way to class today.
Speaking of class – my timetable is quite nice for the final stretch. I made a mini resolution to myself in January: to try and wear more of the clothes that I want to wear because it makes me feel more confident. I’ve always had it drummed into me that ‘school/learning environments are not fashion shows’ – which OK yes for practical subjects that’s fine, but what’s the harm in feeling like your outfit is cute. Most of my classrooms are still really cold so thick tights and long sleeves and high necks and cute socks that you can’t see and boots with ace tread are getting me through life right now.
Seriously, I’m so in love with high neck tops in ribbed fabric I’m creating an army. I’m also loving simple outfits but snazzing them up with accessories to make them less boring. I got these braces in Korea and doctored them a little by punching about 6 extra holes because I am not that long. They’re a little b*tch for picking at stitching though, the clasps weren’t greatly padded because I got these dirt cheap in Edae, so they work best on fabrics that are quite soft and squishy anyway.
Totes wishing that this was my bedroom right now – so tidy, and bright, and not being buffeted by storms or the imminent threat of rain (though today was sunny… more of today plz weather!). I hope you’ve all had a fab Thursday, and let me know what you think of today’s ootd please!
