I’m generally not one for writing up events here on the blog unless they need to be spoken about, but festivities are happening and Boohoo certainly know how to throw a good party. Which is pretty much the actual epitome of needing to be spoken about.
Seriously though, I’ve worked with Boohoo a few times now, and the team are always so lovely and welcoming, and really a general joy to collaborate with. It’s also lovely how they put on these events so we can meet the rest of the team we don’t speak to as often, and a lot of other bloggy and pr types. So it was really lovely to attend the Boohoo Bloggers Christmas Party at the W Hotel in Leicester Square.
Kayleigh, Vix, and Sophie in a bit of ‘snap-ception’ – ty girls for making my night doubly fab <3 |
I’d had a bit of a stressful morning to afternoon – balancing a job interview with running for trains and then dealing with banking issues in the middle of St Pancras is not my ideal way of spending a Thursday – but once I met up with Kayleigh, and then Vix and Sophie, my day became infinitely better. There’s something just so fab about getting ready with your girls for the evening ahead… and even though I had to work with the makeup I put on at 8am that morning, Boohoo had very kindly sent me along a dress to wear for the party so I could sparkle regardless. They have such a lovely selection of party dresses and party outfits in at the moment, perfect for any you might be attending in the run up to New Years!
The dress I was gifted is the boutique Amy flower detail contrast prom dress* in the black and white colourway. It’s a beautiful dress, I was really drawn to the floaty skirt with tulle structuring, and the higher neckline, so the jeweled banding around the midsection could really set the dress apart. It looks absolutely precious in the dusky pink, but I thought the black would be a little more versatile for other events. Either would work with the way I’ve styled it, a white barely-there heel from New Look (public desire do a fab range too), and a full skirted trench coat so the skirt can flounce a little. This tan coat was a bit of a magic find in Primark a few years back.

I’ve never been to the W Hotel before, so I was v excited indeed to be walking past the glowy W that marks the doors. I think a few other events were going on at the same time, so there were quite a few people going in and out (and taking selfies in the beautifully lit foyer). We wound our way to the right bar, and the lovely ladies at the door greeted us. Then, for me, it was a whirlwind of saying hi to old friends and new, marvelling at the fact that there was a just dance and the most wonderful of glittery face decoration stations to have fun with, and lots of lovely people to talk to.
Honestly, I was so gutted that I couldn’t stay longer than I did – trains are the bane of my life I swear – totally had those Cinderella vibes when I absolutely had to switch shoes and dash to the station (though I didn’t leave a heel on any starecase, did have to check) so I didn’t miss my train.
It was such a fab night and I’m so thankful to have been invited to spend it with some amazing bloggers and an amazing brand.
What will you be wearing this holiday season?
