In July, I decided to switch my base – my previous bb cream (Holika Holika aqua petit jelly) had been around for a little too long and was at the stage where it definitely needing replacing. I haven’t had a cushion compact since Korea, and, what with the hype around us finally getting them in the west, was having a bit of FOMO, tbh.
So I picked up A’pieu’s Air Fit cushion compact (shade 21). For about £8 it’s way more affordable than Lancome’s offering, and still makes my skin look brill. (most probably thanks to A’pieu’s formula)
Cushion compacts are having a bit of a moment right now, and rightly so. They’re a brilliantly easy way to apply your base, easy to carry around with you without fears of leakage, easy to refill. Easy, easy, easy all round, really. They also add air into the application process, which means that even with a couple of applications you avoid the cakeyness.
I was particularly drawn to the A’pieu Air Fit Cushion because of the ingredients: mineral water, air-light powder, sliding powder, air light powder, aloe vera and tea tree extract, and avocado patented ingredient derived peptides.
Aloe vera and tea tree extract in base products? I am sold. It also has SPF 50+/PA+++ for my burn-prone ghost skin. Winning.
I apologise for the impending photos of my face, but I wanted to show you guys how the compact worked on my skin with one press of the sponge 🙂
I’m not a massive fan of foundation, so I’ve tended to stick to BB and CC formulas, as I prefer the coverage and the way it feels light on my skin. This formula is honestly so weightless, I hardly felt like I was wearing product. I am also a major fan of the protective covering between the puff and the sponge cushion.
I think the only negatives of cushion compacts are that you don’t get a tubes worth of product in one compact, but the A’peiu refills are fairly inexpensive, and you can swap the puffs out whenever you want.
What do you guys think? Have you tried cushion compacts before?

I have such dry skin that I can't use powder, because it just dries it up even more, but this seems great! Awesome review!xo, Lauren-leeLauren-lee Grace Beauty & Fashion

It definitely won't dry your skin out! If you're having hydration issues then perhaps check out the holika holika petit bb cream in aqua or moisture? They really help with dry skin :)xo
