Sorry for slacking in the posting, guys. Halloween is one of the busiest weeks for societies at Uni, and well, Uni work in general is a thing and I wasn’t writing or creating content I felt was good enough for the blog. 🙁
But!!!!! I hit 600 followers on instagram recently and thought that I’d do a bit of an ‘intsa-style’ kind of post. A lot of the outfits I wear day to day don’t get to feature much on the blog because 1) my phone camera is actually crap and I like having pretty decent quality images on this space and 2) faffing around with the tripod and timer and things when I should’ve been out of the door 3 minutes ago does not for pretty outfits make.
jacket: h&m
raglan/baseball tee: urban outfitters
check shirt: new look
jeans: h&m
This outfit is actually a cheeky recreation of a kpop boyband airport fashion outfit I saw in the week I wore this. I’ve always loved the plaid/check-shirt-round-the-wait-for-aesthetics look, and it took me ages to find a check shirt I liked enough. Thankfully, NewLook pulled through with this one. It’s also super soft too. Bit steeper in price at £19.99, but it has a high-low hem (it falls over your bum at the back) so I’m going to get lots of winter wear out of this.
crop top: asos
tennis skirt: american apparel
heart garter: aliexpress
socks: ebay
shoes: missguided
Seasonably inappropriate, but this was a late summer outfit. I fell in love with tennis skirts earlier this year and am steadily building up a whole collection. Not all of them are from AA, because £56 for a skirt is ridiculous (forever waiting on that liquidation sale), so I’ve been trying to find the highest quality dupes I can.
I also love pairing these missguided platforms with over-knee socks. They look so cute. Mum still hates them though.
denim jacket: vintage levis via We Are Cow
sweater: korea
jeans: h&m
boots: boohoo
I searched FOR AGES to find that denim jacket, but I covered that story in Snow Fairy, so if that tale takes your fancy, go and read! This is actually the second outfit I wore with it, and it made me fall in love. The sweater I found in Korea, and I’ve been missing the ability to just rock down to Hongdae or Edae or Myeongdong or Sinsa and just pick up all the super cool jumpers for winter. I’m not liking the prices and/or styles this season. Tees and tops, all the yes. Sweaters? Nope :(((
The boots I love. Or loved. I don’t know what it is about these but the pretty overrode the substance of these boots. In the first or second wear of these last year the heel just… collapsed. Which is super sad because other pairs of boots I’ve had from Boohoo have been ace.
fedora: missguided
high neck top: new look
suspender skirt: h&m
I LOVE THIS OUTFIT COMBINATION SO MUCH THOUGH. I also love these high neck ribbed tops that New Look does so much, too. It’s probably the comfiest top that I own, and I adore the colour ridiculous amounts. ALL THAT RUST. The suspender skirt is an old buy from H&M Korea, so the chances of being able to pick up the same one are slim. Sorry. It’s a gorgeous flippy jersey material though, and adds a little more to my outfits than my other standard jersey circle skirt from asos.
longline cardigan: primark
flawless high neck top: new look
studded skirt: ebay
Whacked out two of my ‘oldie but goodie’ wardrobe items for this outfit, plus my fab new ‘flawless’ high neck top from New Look. Also all sorts of in love with this one, it has the same neckline and ribbed material as the rust one, and I’m not at all suggesting you should go out and buy one immediately, but like, we could so twin. This Primark cardi will forever be a fave, it’s so warm and so easy to throw on with e v e r y t h i n g. Everything.
milk top: mengmengDa design via aliexpress
tennis skirt: TaoBao
I was saying earlier about ‘good quality tennis skirt dupes’ and TaoBao takes that crown for me right now. I have a whole post on where to shop for good quality stuff from China coming up soon, and this skirt will feature because it’s brilliant. It’s actually heavier material than my white AA skirt, and comes with little sewn in shorts for modesty. Ta Asia. 😀
zip crop: h&m
corset: ebay
black shorts: boohoo
leggings: ebay
My first halloween outfit of this year! Harley Quinn has been a character I’ve wanted to dress up as for ages, and since I missed out on expo this year, Halloween seemed to be the next best option. I’ll do a more in-depth post on how I created this look around the next expo date, soooo keep an eye out for that! On the actual night I got some really lovely compliments so yay.
I was also really skeptical that the corset I got for this would be shocking, since eBay sometimes doesn’t have the best quality anything, but I was actually really pleasantly surprised. It’s not steel boned but it did it’s job as a one-day wear, and it’s still standing.
So yeah, sorry again for skipping a few days. It shouldn’t happen again, hopefully ever, but exams and deadlines are rolling round quite fast so I’m not going to promise for definite… However in my little break I did manage to crank out a post for Mutzine, a webzine focusing on Korean fashion – and I’m the Street Style Editor. :O I’ve loved their content since Mutzine started, so to actually be able to write for them is a bit of a dream.
If you want to check out the Trendspotting: Seoul Fashion Week Street Style post I wrote then I’d be super happy.
But first, which insta-outfit was your fave?

I love the design of these images, so cute with the washi tape! How flipping long do your legs look in the photo of you in the white skirt and socks! Me and my stubby legs need to try that trick!Kirstie | http://www.kimamelybeauty.com
