I’ve always loved oversized sweaters. They’re the ultimate for snuggling in (especially if they have a fleecy lining), they’re the universal ‘throw on’ clothes. They can take you from sleepwear when it’s minus-who-knows-what to errand running to dressing them up for a cool streetwear look. For me, there’s also something really secure about them. They make me feel safe as well as cosy, and they’re super simple to create an outfit around.
My new sweater of choice is this CHARM’S half high neck sweatshirt. It’s in a gorgeous dark colour somewhere between navy and teal, and I’ve been eyeing the range up in Aland for the last few months. They’re cosy AF, and I love the fact they fit in an oversized way, so I can effectively wear size 2 at least, as a dress. CHARM’S is a Korean streetwear brand that I’ve fallen more in love with each passing Fashion Week. They’re a really fun brand that brings reliable basics, as well as more tailored pieces. I’m super excited for the SS18 collection to drop, and the weather to be more suitable to wear it. They have some really iconic and super stylised looks. I am totally here for it.
They also recently did a collaboration line with the sportswear brand KAPPA, which is having a serious streetwear revival, and I am very much here for that, too. It mixes the basic CHARM’S logo with that of KAPPA to create some really cool branding, on items that would definitely not go amiss in any wardrobe.
sweater – CHARM’S (via Aland) // beret – h&m // skirt (you can’t see it) Edae // boots – daisystreet
I know the ‘oversized sweater with OTK boots’ is a look that’s been done to death, but I really didn’t have enough of a chance to wear these Daisystreet boots out, so now that winter is here in full force I need something to keep my legs warm other than thermals. My eternal struggle to find good fitting jeans and trousers is still ongoing (hit me up with any and all recommendations), so I’m valiantly keeping on with my love of skirts and dresses even though it’s MINUS 17 DEGREES CELSIUS. These boots, at least, keep the majority of my legs nice and warm, and there’s enough room in them for me to shove a couple of hot packs in so that my toes don’t freeze off. Plus, I love how they’re flat and ridiculously comfortable to walk around in.
My pledge to accessorise more didn’t fall by the wayside for this look either! Points to me. I’m partial to a good beret, so colour me as happy as one can be that they’re having a moment. It means that there are so many to choose from, and a lot have just gone into sale. This black beret is from h&m, and it wasn’t as heavily discounted as the sale tag advertised, but I’ll let that slide because it’s cute. I love how berets can change a look so much, this would’ve probably sat around the ‘considerably street’ mark in terms of aesthetic for me, but adding a beret has changed it to something I’d consider a little more chic and pulled together. The Parisians have always know what they’re doing.

Doing different kinds of shoots for the blog is also on the agenda this year. I said in my goals post for this year that I wanted to be more creatively ambitious in the way I go about presenting what’s in my head, and these shots, I guess, are the first iteration of that. I’m ridiculously happy with how almost all of them turned out. There were genuinely only one or two dud shots in the whole set, which is both a testament to how much Hannah puts up with my whining, but also how good she’s getting.
Playing with light is something that really blew up in 2017 with Brandon Woelfel and his fairy lights, but it’s something that can really affect photos. I’m excited to plan some fun concepts to showcase my outfits in a more interesting way this year – so I hope that you like it!

This look, oh my god oh my god. You rock it so well! If I tried the oversized sweater look myself, I'd end up resembling a sack of potatoes trying to make a break for freedom… Elmpetra
