The embellished jacket trend has really rocketed hasn’t it? Since the denim resurgence, we’ve moved from utility to fun and funky, with so many shops selling patches and pins so you can personalise to your hearts content. (I really love punky pins, and a new find, sour cherry, for my own collection.)

But if you’re not up for getting a plain jacket then spending the money on embellishing it, there a multitude of fab styles pretty much everywhere.

The original trend-spotter that I am, I’ve actually had this jacket for over a year, and mixed with the british weather, lack of photographer and slogging my way through final year of Uni… only managed to get shots of it now. I don’t know if the jacket is a knock-off of some designer denim, but I saw it last August on aliexpress and kind of couldn’t get it out of my head. It arrived a little later than anticipated (I wanted it for SS16 Fashion Week), so I hadn’t really got the chance to get that wear out of it till earlier this year considering it’s lightweight denim.

Seriously, if you’re buying denim from Asia it’s infinitely a better idea to try it on for fit and feel beforehand (or buy from a brand you know and trust) than buy it from aliexpress, romwe, shein, etc… but I really couldn’t pass up this jacket.

I decided to throw in another statement piece (the h&m patterned skirt) to edge up the whole thing a little more, considering if I’m wearing a jacket that has WAR SWEET WAR and a fricking shark on the back, then go big or go home. So we have one of my favourite skirts from last years h&m collection, and a long sleeved v-neck tee to balance it all out. It’s from the same brand as my oversized 1980 tee I showed you guys in the summer, and I’m so glad I discovered them.

Fun fact: Han and I got kicked out of the carpark we were taking these photos in not long after getting these shots. Goddamn it’s so hard to find a decent rooftop to take photos on these days. And these are some of my all time favourite outfit photos.

Fun fact number 2: I never thought I’d ever be able to pull of the faux suede/fabric cap look, but I don’t think I did too badly here. Apparently good things happen when I bother to style my hair.
